As Theologian-in-Residence at Sweet Home Baptist Church- The Pinnacle of Praise in Round Rock, Texas, Rev. Melanie authored and curated a workbook entitled "God of the Oppressed Discovering Liberation Theology" to accompany the Spring 2019 twelve-week congregational study of the late Rev. Dr. James Cone's fourth book God of the Oppressed. The curriculum resource helps to bridge the gap between Black liberation theology as an academic discipline and the Black Church. It also features voices of emerging scholars and thinkers in the fields of Black and womanist theologies at the end of each unit.
