An African proverb says, “When you pray, move your feet.”
I am accountable to generations and communities who yearn for scholars and preachers who “talk the talk” and “walk the walk.”
From 2008-2010, I was elected to serve as the highest-ranking undergraduate international officer and member of the Directorate for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. My service to all humankind continues as I encourage women to excel in scholarship and service through the Melanie C. Jones South Eastern Region Undergraduate Endowment and Centennial Undergraduate Endowment Funds with the AKA-Educational Advancement Foundation as well as the Board Chair of the Daughters of the African Atlantic Fund -- a U.S. 501c3 organization that envisions African descended, trans- and cisgender women and girls are fully protected to live freely, work creatively, and dream boldly.
